INTRODUCTION TO THE ACADEMY OF BAROQUE AND ACADEMIC EQUESTRIAN EDUCATION

The International Academy of Baroque and Academic Equestrian Education is the first traditional riding institution that is opening its doors with a world-wide distance learning, ranking, certification, and distance competition equestrian program.

Master Instructor William Sanders started riding ponies at an early age, and by the age of eight he had his first horse. He learned to ride first from his father, Carl Sanders. Carl was an accomplished equestrian, receiving formal training in the US Cavalry School as a member of its last mounted unit. The US Calvary utilized French text books and Carl Sanders instilled these classical methods in William.

William eventually went on training with other notable horsemen and became a long-time student of the late renown French Baucherist, Master Jean Claude Racinet. He later traveled to Europe to study over eleven years with his last teacher, Master Luis Valenca of Portugal, importing fine Lusitanos for his academy from Portugal during this period. Master Instructor Sanders also became friends and studied with Master Valenca’s cousin, Master Joao Oliviera, the son of the late legend Master Nuno Oliveira. More on Master Sander's background. Video Clips.

The Academy of Baroque and Academic Education opened its doors in 2007 for private lessons and the training of horses. Riders come from all over the globe to ride with Master Instructor Sanders. Now the academy has designed a distance learning program. Anyone, anywhere, can take advantage of our training methods, compete, and become certified to teach others, without expensive travel, monthly contracts, and can be done right at home with your horse, learning teaching and riding methods not available to most people anywhere.
